Using the names for faces, we now have names for all the 26 cubes that make up Rubik\'s Cube (we don\'t really count the center of the cube, because we never see it). We name each cubelet (a cubelet is one of the smaller cubes that makes up the big cube) with the letters of the sides it is a part of. Gently lift the edge piece in the middle of the rotated face with your thumb, while gently inserting the screwdriver. Slowly prise the piece out. Where "flip" refers to having the facelets exchange places. Note that this theorem says nothing about what happens to the corner cubelets.

For example g might be `give a specific pair of opposite faces a double twist (spin each through 180^0)\'. Let h be a similar move but with another pair of central facelet colours specifying the opposite faces to be turned. Turn the bottom layer until you see a solved corner and an unsolved corner in the front face. Make sure to have one sticker with the color of the bottom layer on the front as well. Using this logic, the back side of our cube is Orange so the back corners (labeled as 3 and 4) must both then contain Green and Orange facelets. Furthermore, all the final corners must also be on their correct sides .

The task here is like trying to tell someone entirely through explicit rules how to recognize the face of your grandmother. A digital camera scans the cube\'s six faces and then sends the images to an attached PC, which analyzes them and sends the robot commands for manipulating the cube. Solving the puzzle takes about 15 minutes. You turn one of the four edge cubelets yellow/blue, yellow/orange, yellow/green, yellow/red to the face with the correct colour (if yellow is not at the top, don\'t worry!). If the remaining cubelets are not at the correct positions, you have to switch them over the left edge cubelet at the top.
